You’ll have come in to see everything. We have new classes; and for our
newcomers, we are also offering the beginning quilting classes, as well as the
old favorites like Appliqué Block, Oil and Watercolor painting, Tatting & Crazy
Quilt Club, Friday Social, Hand Quilting Group. The
Kids Sewing Camp will take place before school starts, early in August,
with 3 great projects. We will be welcoming Marie Stevens,

educator, for three days. The first two will be classes and the last day she
will do demos and answer your questions on any
JANOME machines or
software. Her classes will be free, but you will have a kit fee. The projects
we have planned for Christmas in July

CLASSES AND SPECIAL EVENTS
JANOME Holiday Table Topper-- In just one day, Marie Stevens will teach you to create a beautiful Table Topper. You will learn Lace Shaping, Inserting an Appliqué, Madeira Appliqué, Mitered corners & Perfect Embroidery placement Also instructions on using the Clothsetter with the MC11000, MC10000/1 or MC9700. Persons will embroidery only machines such as the MC350 E, 200E will need to bring their sewing machines as well. The kit includes among other things: Handkerchief Linen & French Imported lace. It is a perfect gift for the special person. Class is free to those who purchased their machines at FABRIC ART SHOP, $30 if not. Kit is $35.00. The Class will start on Thursday morning, July 24th at 9:30 am & is 6 – 8 hours.
JANOME Heirloom Pillow by Serger-- Marie Stevens will be teaching you how to use your 1110DX or 1200D Serger. The fabric included in the kit will be Batiste with French Lace and Double Faced Satin Ribbon. The Student will learn how to set the serger for Gathering, Rolled Hem, 3 Thread Overlock . You will be taught Heirloom techniques such as, Pin Tucks, Lace to Lace, Lace to fabric and Ruffling. The pillow size is a 10” square. The student will supply her/his own 10” pillow form and the thread which is White 50 weight cotton. Class is free to those who purchased their machines at FABRIC ART SHOP, $20 if not. Kit is $30.00. Beginning Quilting Techniques—Learn what tools suit you best, what fabrics will give your quilt interest and spark; and how to construct a 4 block sampler quilt. You will learn how to cut, piece, appliqué, apply sashings and borders as well as learning to sandwich, quilt and bind your quilt. Machine work is encouraged but hand work is also welcome in this very informative course. 6 regular sessions plus 1 appointment session are included in the course. ($65.00) -- Day Class 10-1, Night Class 6-9pm July 31, August 14, 28, September 4,11, 18.
Bow Tie Wreath ruthie miller will guide you through this fun technique class while you complete a wonderful Christmas—or not-- lap quilt. 2 sessions $25 + fabric. Thursdays, July 10 & 17. 2-5PM or 6-9 PM.
Crazy 8’s—Lee Starr will show you how to make a wonderful lap quilt top with just 8 fat quarters. Use your stash or take advantage of the July sales to get more. $20 (includes pattern) + supplies. Sunday, July 20 or September 7, 1-5pm
Watercolor Painting with Wally Reichert— ($35.00 per session + supplies, Intro $15.00 + supplies) Additional information, call Wally at 386-758-7853. Saturdays 1-5 pm August 9, 30, September 27.
Appliqué Block-- Construct a surprise appliqué block each session. Your blocks can be from different scraps and fat quarters—or you may choose to use the same fabric grouping for each session and put the blocks into sampler quilt. We will continue work on simple Baltimore Album blocks and start a new project during this quarter. ($5.00 per session) Tuesday mornings 10-12am, July 8, 22, August 12, 26, September 9, 23
Oil Painting with Sandy Lindfors. A class for beginner to intermediate painters. Learn composition, perspective and "tricks" for making frameable oil paintings during the six sessions. Drawing with Sandy Lindfors This is Drawing 101 where you learn to draw what you see. Instruction covers drawing in almost every aspect. Still life, people, landscape are all covered with emphasis on perspective, composition and values. 3 sessions ($60.00 + supplies) Saturday mornings 10-12, August 16, 23, 30.
O’Tannenbaum --ruthie miller teaches this basic block technique to make quilts using an organized fabric pull or you can use up scraps left over from other projects. ” 3F graduates will find this a breeze. Take this quilt class now and get that Christmas project completed early. $20 plus fabric and supplies. 2 sessions Thursday afternoons 2-5pm or evening 6-9pm ,September 16 & 30.
Stress Free Paper Piecing—Easily paper piece your foundation blocks without utilizing special tools and lights. Use up those charm squares & scraps you have been hoarding to make paper pieced blocks with no stress, strain or special tools. It's fun & very easy! A variety of patterns will used in class. ($12.00 + supplies) Wednesday, July 16, 2-5pm or Tuesday night July 29 6-9pm
KIDS SEWING CAMP -- This year the camp projects will be a Pet Screen Purse, a Bug Jar Quilt and a Scribble Scarf. Like last year, Sandy and Barbie host this camp from 9-12 each morning, Monday – Thursday, August 4-7 ($160.00 includes lessons, supplies & snacks.)
Hand Quilting Techniques -- Lee Starr will get you started on the traditional art of hand quilting. Once you learn the basics, be sure to join her hand quilting group on some upcoming Tuesday afternoons. ($25.00 + supplies) Schedule your appointment with Lee.
Hand Quilting Group Fun -- Lee Starr will lead you in the traditional art of hand quilting. Tuesday afternoons, July 8, 22, August 12, 26, September 9, 16 (free) 12:30 -2pm
Quilting Without The Dogs (free motion quilting)--From basic straight line to specialty design quilting used by Barbie in a variety of unique quilts. Through special exercises you will become more comfortable in working without the Dogs. Beginners through advanced students can learn and enjoy this class. ($15.00 + supplies) Tuesday, September 23, 6-9 pm
Card Trick blocks---learn two different techniques for creating this block, along with simple methods of creating half square, quart square and three-quarter square units! ($25 + Supplies; Pattern included) Tuesday September 9, 3-5pm or 6-8pm
Christmas Tree Quilt—Get another Christmas project done with Lee Starr. Rotary cutting techniques will be covered while you make this lovely holiday wall hanging. ($25.00 + supplies; Pattern included) Sunday, September 21, 1-5pm
FABRIC ART WORKSHOP SERIES Fiber Art is here to stay! And Progress! Come on out of your box and try some old and new techniques to enhance your fiber art. Book is required for this series. Tatting & Crazy Quilt Club-- You will need muslin for the block foundations, and lots of fun fabrics, threads, beads, lace and more. Then we’ll put it out for all to share. We will meet once a month to feed our addiction to these wonderful quilt and stitchery techniques. ($3.00 per session) Sunday, Tatting 12-1, Crazy Quilt 1-5PM, July 13, August 10 & September 14
Friday Night Social -- It’s a guild meeting without the business part. Sandy Lindfors is your host for the entertainment and games. Show & tell by bringing your finished projects and show off. Cuddly For Comfort -- Come sew, sandwich, quilt, bind for disaster victims and community service as we need to make lots of quilts, tote bags, wheelchair and walker bags, etc. Lots of donated fabrics have come in from individuals and manufacturers. Donations of money for shipping are always welcome. Special Cuddly sewing sessions will be on Saturday & Sunday afternoons 1-5pm on
Guild Day sale for Lady of the Lake members: On your meeting day, get 20% off of fabrics and notions.
Policy for Classes:
Class supply lists normally will be available prior to start date. Classes must be paid in full at class registration. You may call in to register with a credit card or stop by the store. Classes may be cancelled with advance notice in the case of emergencies. Under these circumstances, class fees will be credited to another class. If you do not notify us of cancellation at least 4 days prior to class, no refunds or credits will be given. Signup lists will be available immediately. One-on-one classes at your request are available by appointment at $25.00 per hour. These classes must also be paid at time of registration. Group meetings, such as Tatting and Crazy Quilt, Socials, Appliqué Block, Hand Quilting Group, do not require advance payment or registrations, though we do appreciate knowing in advance if you will attend.
