Protective gloves to fit--dishwashing gloves

Laundry marker (Rub-a-Dub) *

3-6 yards of 100% cotton fabrics**, scrubbed*** and torn into fat quarters.  Include white, natural, white on white, white on natural, etc.  The quality of the fabric does matter--the better the quality and threads per inch, the better the finished creations will be.

Wear loose & comfortable clothing & shoes that you do not mind artistically altering.

A bucket or other container to carry your wet fabrics in

Another container to carry your left over supplies, mixed dyes & tools

A lunch/snacks/drinks for the day

Small note pad & pencils

A smile and enthusiasm

 

Your kit will include the rest of the materials you will need.

 

*Available at the Studio

**Kona Cotton, Dyers Cloth  fabrics, prepared for dyeing (scrubbed) is available at the Studio at current market prices.

***Scrubbing your fabrics or preparing for dyeing must be completed prior to the class.  Wash all your fabrics in the washing machine with hot water, 3T Synthrapol + ¼ cup soda ash.  If these products are not available to you, you can substitute 3T Dawn  (yes, it must be this brand) dish detergent + ¼ cup baking soda.  Do not add fabric softeners or anything else to the wash.   Dry your fabrics without any fabric softener sheets & do not worry about ironing your fabrics.
