Come on in and welcome our latest staff member, Kim Davis. She’s usually here on Thursdays and her class days. She has
been teaching Digitizer classes for the last year and she will continue this, plus giving software classes on the Artistic Software
and the Floriani Software. Look for the fun classes she will be teaching. FABRIC ART SHOP has another wonderful schedule of
classes and sales. This is The Year of You....Increasing Your Creativity". Our classes will be geared to new, unusual and
useable to help you grow in the fiber arts and more. Be sure to register right away for the classes you want. And be sure to sign

March 11 is the day you can Start Pick up of UNTAIL IT Challenge Fabric and Rules. The challenge quilts will be due on May 12,
2012. The hand Applique group will be taking a break until February. At that time we will start a new project. So get the old
projects done and be ready to start afresh! And don’t forget the HAND STITCHERS RESCUE & THERAPY CLUB on Monday
mornings. Celebrate with us for Lee’s & Sue’s birthday at 10:00 am on February 21st!
We still have 3 close-out Pennywinkle machines: 1 in the table Sunshine and 1 EASY GLIDE CREATOR in Lake City, and 1
Pennywinkle Professional (see on YouTube: http://youtu.be/cbobq-wzBpc) with 10 foot frame in Boynton Beach, FL. These must
be picked up as we will not ship. Once they are gone we will be selling the ABM International INNOVA quilting systems. They
come in 18”, 22”, 26” & 32” throats on frames or in table. The features are too numerous to mention here, but check out their

When you cannot make our class dates work for you, we would be happy to do another class for you if 3 or more persons will

Classes and Events
Watercolor Painting with Wally Reichert— ($28.00 per session + supplies, Intro $15.00 + supplies) Water color paper and
painting tools available at FABRIC ART SHOP. For additional information, call Wally at 386-758-7853
Oil Painting Club. How long has it been since you’ve dipped your brush? Savored the smell of mineral spirits? Well----bring
your half not finished or paintings that need tweaking or ideas for a new painting and let Sandy help you. It’s a class for
beginner to intermediate painters. Learn composition, perspective and "tricks" for making frameable oil paintings. Oil Paint Kits,
brushes, palette knives & canvas are available at FABRIC ART SHOP. For additional information & to register for class dates,

Beginning and Beginning Again Sewing --- This class is for beginners and for those that want to brush up on their long lost
sewing skills. You need a sewing machine and know how to operate it. Pick an easy sewing project and Jeanette will teach you
all the necessary things you need to know about pattern reading, cutting and machine techniques. Contact Jeanette to set up
your class needs. ($20.00 + supplies) Saturday, January 28, Friday, February 24 & March 16. 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
What size am I? Pattern Fitting - A question we have all asked. Spend a few hours with Jeanette learning how to measure
yourself and make simple alterations to patterns. ($10.00 ) Saturday January 14, 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
Re-purpose, Re-use, Recycle - Have you ever looked at a bedspread or wool skirt or outgrown sweater…… and wondered what
else it could be? This class will give you a chance to use your imagination and make something into something else. The first
session will be Saturday March 3, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm bring your ideas and supplies to get started. The second session on
Saturday March 31 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, we will meet and hopefully put the finishing touches on our projects.
($15.00 covers both sessions + supplies).
Hand Appliqué - We will start a new project that can be a table cloth or wall hanging or center of a bed quilt. Kaitlyn’s Circle of
Life ($5.00 per session) Tuesday mornings, February 21, March 6 & March 20, 10am-1pm
Hand Quilting Techniques -- Lee will get you started on the art of hand quilting. ($20.00 + supplies) Schedule your
appointment with Lee.
Color Bliss - During "The Year of You...Increasing Your Creativity" increase your understanding of color in cloth and how it
relates to your quilting and other fiber arts. Gain a basic understanding of the color wheel and color harmonies during a lecture
and working through color exercises. There will be many examples of what works and what doesn't work, how to add "pop"
to your art, a few basic rules that you can fall back when choosing colors & how to get the look and feel you want for your
projects. . ($15.00 + booklet/pattern + supplies) Saturday, February 25, 10 am-4pm
Digitizer Club--With Kim’s expertise, you will find that you can easily negotiate through the steps to create your personal
embroidery patterns. If you need this introductory training, please let us know so that you can be scheduled for an individual
class.) Digitizer Club is for those who have had the introductory class or hands on experience with the software. 1st Quarter
Digitizing Project - Learn to digitize a simple photo or drawing from start to finish. We will go though all the steps from getting
our subject ready to digitize (scanning, printing, and creating a line drawing) to digitizing our subject, and stitching it out. We will
start off digitizing a run line version of our subject and move into more advanced techniques giving your embroidery texture and
definition. ($35.00 + Digitizer Jr or MB+ your laptop). (If you wish to audit this class only, cost is $30.00) Tuesdays, 2 – 5 pm
January 24, February 28 and March 27.
Stitch Out Fun – this is the hands on machine part of the Digitizer Club classes where the projects are actually sewn out and
critiqued. ($5.00 +supplies) Tuesdays, February 7 & March 13, 1-6pm
Rainforest Rings--table runner & place mat pattern. This table runner is perfect for any type of focal fabric. This is an easy pattern,
with two techniques given for making the rings: easy turned edges with freezer pater or fusible web. (Pattern: $9.00 class fee-$20.00
+ supplies) Thursday January 19, 10am-4pm
Trash to Treasure Scrappy Pineapple Technique - When throwing it out is not an option, what to do with all those scraps? Take the
challenge and make something from literally nothing. Turn the most humble scraps into some stunning absolutely beautiful artist
expression in fiber. It's called a Trash to Treasure Pineapple Quilt. A step by step lecture/demonstration on how construct the block,
following the guide lines from the book by: Glyeen X. Fitzgerald and using the accompanying ruler. Pattern and ruler will be available
for purchase at that time. Bring your machine & scraps to try it out. ($10.00) Thursday, February 9, 10am-1pm
And Your Point is...With A Twist - This on-point piecing technique is fast and easy and not just for making quilts. This technique is
perfect for creating pillows, table runners and placemats. The key to this technique is using the Quilters Grid on point with squares
that are perfect for the 5" fabric sqaures and the 1 3/4" sashing strips. (A random layout of 5" X 5" charm squares with sashing &
the option of a twist {cornerstones}). Patterns include queen size 90" X 93", full size 83 X 91", lap 46” x 59”; baby 34” x 34”
(Pattern is from the Crooked Nickel $9.95 + $20.00 + supplies) Thursday, March 15, 10am-4pm
Silk Painting - Learn the art of painting on silk, continuing session on use of resists, paints vs. dyes, setting of color, and misc.

Fabric painting- Students can choose to work on either cotton or silk. Kits will be available to make a purse or pillow cover.

Janome FM 725 Felting Group New Group activity--and if you have another felting machine, you can still play with us!- Bring
your machine and let's play together. Wednesday Feb. 1, 10am- 2pm
Wet Felting for Jewelry, Home Decor - Project will be to felt bar soap and make a bracelet/necklace.
($10 class fee plus $10 for supplies) Wednesday, March 7th 10am- 2pm.
Landscape Bargello Quilt Top or Wall Hanging - Learn a fun way to make a landscape quilt, you choose your size.
($10 + supplies) Wednesday, February 29th 10am -2pm
Stress Free Paper Piecing—Learn to easily read paper piecing patterns and paper piece your foundation blocks without utilizing
special tools and lights. Use up those charm squares & scraps you have been hoarding to make paper pieced blocks with no stress,
strain or special tools. It's fun and very easy! A variety of patterns will used in class. ($12.00 + supplies),

Kids Sewing 4 Kids – Learn to sew pillow case dresses and/or make quilt tops for other children who need them.

HAND STITCHERS RESCUE & THERAPY CLUB---.every Monday for your hand stitching projects. It starts at 10 and goes til ??.
Cuddly For Comfort – Kids and Adults---Come sew, sandwich, quilt, bind for disaster victims and community service as we need to make lots of quilts,
tote bags, wheelchair and walker bags, etc. Lots of donated fabrics have come in from individuals and manufacturers. We have many more needs
than we can accommodate. Please come on out and volunteer! Piecing, quilting & binding and in-kind donations. Donations of money for shipping
are always welcome.
Guild Day sale for Lady of the Lake members: On your meeting day, get 20% off of fabrics and notions.
Policy for Classes:
Class supply lists normally will be at the store. Classes may be cancelled with advance notice in the case of emergencies. Under these circumstances,
class fees will be credited to another class. If you do not notify us of cancellation at least 4 days prior to class, no refunds or credits will be given.
Signup lists will be available immediately. One-on-one classes at your request are available by appointment at $25.00 per hour. These classes must
also be paid at time of registration. Group meetings, such as Tatting and Crazy Quilt, Socials, Hand Appliqué, Hand Quilting Group, do not require
advance payment or registrations, though we do appreciate knowing in advance if you will attend.
