toward making art quilts. See how to make your quilts special with color,
value, thread choices and learn how embellishments can give your quilts extra
interest and pizazz. Also discover how to utilize some of those old craft items

to put all your creative skills together to make quilts that will amaze all who
see them.
CREATING AN ART

Inspirational program to help you make your
quilt special with embellishments. Learn how to utilize some of those old craft

Special kit is presented in a way that will begin your journey to creating a
very unique wall hanging. You'll wonder why you never thought of
expressing yourself in this way and will be amazed at the wonderful new options
you'll start pulling out of your hat. Any level can benefit from this very
personal experience.

SCARY--WITHOUT FAIL TURN-UNDER APPLIQUÉ SHAPES
(6 HOUR CLASS)
That “A” word does not have to be scary.
You will be amazed at how easy it is to make perfect turn-under appliqué shapes!
You will learn to make those shapes and to stitch the appliqués invisibly to
make a wonderfully professional looking quilt medallion, pillow top or mini
quilt.
NOT SCARY--PAPER PIECING
WITH THE
NO STRESS-NO TOOLS TECHNIQUE
(6 HOUR CLASS)
Paper Piecing will no
longer be scary. And you will be able to use up those charm squares & scraps you
have been hoarding to make paper pieced blocks with no stress, strain or special
tools. It's fun and very easy! A variety of patterns will used in class. And you
will get a special mini quilt pattern to take home so that you will be able to
practice the special techniques you will learn.

Make it-Take it mini quilt workshop--A
method of using paper foundations easily & quickly to make a project or mass
produce project. This workshop will teach you to look at your paper piecing
patterns in a new way. Learn the secret and make future paper piecing much
easier. An inspiring class for all levels.

Thread
lace is great fun and can be used as an embellishment, or to make great gift
items such as the Flashy Scarf. We’ll combine ribbons and yarns, bits and
pieces of lames & silk flowers to make a stunning accessory to complement your
outfits.

If you want your fabrics to be
unique and outstanding, you will learn a variety of techniques to create
magnificent painted fabric pieces which do not look like all the rest on the
market. While learning the techniques you will create a landscape with the
Shiva Paintstiks. This will be the basis for an art quilt that you can
embellish even more when you get home. Ideas will be shared to make your
creation a great work of interest.

MOTION MACHINE QUILTING
(3 HOUR
CLASS)
You won’t have to be scared of
free motion quilting on your domestic sewing machines after learning how to
relax, learning exercises to make free motion quilting more of a natural action,
and talking about the ways to make your quilting personal. By the end of this
session you will have lots of ideas for quilting your creations and tips to make
it easier.

SCARY--QUICK FINISH TABLE TOPPER
(6 HOUR
CLASS)
It's no longer scary to quilt
large quilts. You will not fight your small arm space with a large quilt
and you'll make this table topper quickly. You will be learning a method
of "quilting-as-you-go" that is simplified so that you can turn virtually any
quilt blocks into a easily quilted project. Even your sashing and bindings
are done instantly with no fuss. And this workshop will teach you to look
at your blocks and settings in a new way. It is an inspiring class for all
levels.

SCARY—THREAD PAINTING BASICS (3 HOUR
CLASS)
Thread painting does not have
to be scary. You will work on a variety of small elements that you will then be
able to incorporate into other projects. When taken in small bites, it will be
fun rather than intimidating! A variety of pre-kitted patterns will used in
class. And you will get a special mini quilt pattern to take home so that you
will be able to practice the special techniques you will learn.

There are many methods
of appliquéing that are popular & useful. Learn to make a small quilt top with
these techniques. A fun class which will get you loosened up and beginning an
art quilt.

FLORIDA APPLIQUÉ
(3 HOUR CLASS)
This is another of my
creations. It is somewhat similar to Hawaiian appliqué but encompasses
many of the things I want to see in my fiber art. I am also a
resident of Florida and probably will be until I die, so what better name to
give what I consider to be a more vibrant and moving appliqué form.
MICROWAVE FABRIC
DYING
(6 HOUR CLASS)
Learn to make wonderful
hand dyed fabrics in the microwave. This method is wonderful for people who have
limited space for dying fabrics. If you love to appliqué, this is a must for
your stash! (Group or guild will need to provide several microwave ovens
for this class.) Kits of Procion MX dyes & other necessary
supplies are $35.00. Students bring fabrics prescrubbed and ready for dyeing per
given instructions.

Watch and play to learn how to get these girls
to win your game. Lots of possibilities are
demonstrated and then you'll receive the guidance you need to make your very own

MY MENTAL HEALTH QUILT
(6 HOUR CLASS )
Bring all those leftover strips &
scraps and take the stress out of your life. A fun & easy quilt will be
the result of sharing those scraps and laughs.
You'll learn all about vertical & horizontal quilts and be ready to plan a bunch more.
Come with an open mind and be ready to be
calmed.
QUILTING DESIGNS WITHOUT STENCILS (1 -2 HOURS)
This is a demonstration
& group participation lecture. Learn to use the fabric and the blocks to
determine quilting designs without using stencils, pencils, pens, etc. If
participants want personal guidance, they should bring their quilt tops &
blocks.
