Your Very Own Kaleidoscope Wall Hanging
A Two Day workshop
Part of the Art Quilt Series
Thursday & Friday, September 13-14, 2001
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Each person will create a unique wall hanging of their own. The wall hanging will start with a standard kaleidoscope, but then watch out!
Bring the following:
2-3 yards of your theme fabric that will appear throughout the creation.
10 - ?? fabrics (any size) you would include to coordinate, contrast and blend with the theme. These should be of various values (dark-light gradation) and textures (solids, tone-on-tone, prints of different sizes).
1-2 fabrics that you hate and absolutely would never include in a quilt.
1-2 fabrics of shocking colors
Place all your fabrics in a laundry basket or box so that you can keep your fabrics separate from others. However, come with a mindset to share and trade fabrics to enhance your wall hangings. Your uglies may be someone else’s beauties!!!
2 -3 pencils
personal sewing & cutting items
1 – 2 spools of grey thread for piecing
Straight stitch machines, cutting mats & rulers are available for your use at the studio. However, you are welcome to use your own if you prefer.
Also bring your lunch & specialty drink unless you wish to go out to one of the local establishments. Only water is allowed on the worktables.
